Amma Parenting Center is the exclusive provider of childbirth and new parent education for Fairview Southdale and Fairview Ridges hospitals, HealthEast St. John’s Hospital, University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, and Woodwinds Health Campus. Classes are taught by professionals with real-world experience. Parents receive practical and effective tools to use both before and after your baby arrives, including breastfeeding advice, information on newborn care, and more.
Childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenting classes are also offered at The Birthplaces at Fairview Lakes and Fairview Northland medical centers. These classes are taught by registered nurses at The Birthplace. Topics include breastfeeding, childbirth preparation, sibling preparation, and child passenger safety. In partnership with the Fairview Mesaba Clinics and the Essentia Clinic-Hibbing, sponsors a variety of pregnancy, parenting, and infant care classes through the Preparing for infant Parenting Program. Classes offered include First Steps To Parenting, Expectant Parent Class, Refresher Prenatal Class and a Pediatric Speaker Information Night for Parents. Classes are taught by Women's Health and Birth Center staff, public health nurses, and Hibbing early childhood and family education teachers.
