Pediatric speech-language pathology

Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat infants and children with a focus on:

  • speech articulation
  • oral motor
  • stuttering
  • voice
  • language
  • cognitive development
  • feeding and swallowing difficulties
  • oral sensitivity or defensiveness

Speech pathologists assess and recommend alternative communication devices such as picture/word boards and electronic speech synthesizers, and train parents and children in equipment use.
