Minnesota Community Measurement
Fairview Clinic Care

To measure Fairview's clinic care, staff use measures tracked by Minnesota Community Measurement. Launched in 2003, Minnesota Community Measurement reports measures for 54 Minnesota medical groups, including Fairview clinics. Results are based on agreed-upon medical conditions using common measures reported publicly at mnhealthcare.org.

Fairview's results for clinic care:

The measures represent numerical data that can be compared both to Fairview's standards and to national benchmarks. Our current clinic measures differ from hospital inpatient measures because the clinic measures include tracking treatment as well as outcomes of that care.

No health care system expects to achieve 100 percent on all measures because the measures require balancing sometimes competing needs. For example, if a patient with diabetes has an allergy to aspirin, that person cannot be given aspirin--one of the goals for diabetes care. So, it would be impossible for any health care system to achieve 100 percent on every measure with that particular patient. Although we might not achieve 100 percent on all measuers, we aim to provide the highest quality of care possible.
