Fairview Foundation Financials

In 2014, thanks to the generosity of our donors, Fairview Foundation distributed more than $7.1 million for capital projects, medical technology, provider education and quality healthcare programs throughout Fairview Health Services and the communities we serve. Highlights include:
Capital needs, medical breakthroughs and caring environments
  • Donors provided $4.3 million to support the expansion of the Carl N. Platou Emergency Center at Fairview Southdale Hospital, the Specialty Care Expansion at Fairview Ridges Hospital and other important projects .

Patient care and services
  • Donor support made it possible to dedicate over $2.25 million to expand patient care services and programs. This included support for hospice care therapies, wellness programs for teens and diabetes patients, discount prescription medication for patients in need, general living expenses support for patients in crisis, pregnancy/newborn grief support programs, youth grief services, seniors summer camp, books for our “Reach Out and Read” local literacy program and “scrubby bears” for the comfort of pediatric surgery patients.

Educating and supporting health care providers
  • Donors allowed us to invest over $378,000 in our professional training and development programs to educate healthcare staff. Providers received additional training support in heart health advancements, pediatric wellness, community-based mental health, chemotherapy, and pain management in addition to over 40 specialty education scholarships being awarded.

Care for the health of our communities

  • We were able to provide $211,000 in support of innovative community health programming that reaches where traditional health care cannot.
