Fairview Clinics – Bloomington Lake, Minneapolis is our latest clinic to be recognized as an environmentally “green” clinic based on features such as water-saving design, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality.
The clinic recently received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.
“Fairview is committed to investing in green technologies and practices that help us reduce our impact on the environment,” says Ray Piirainen, system director of real estate.
“It’s the right thing to do for patients, staff and the local community and will help Fairview save money in the long run.”
"About 20 percent of our Fairview-owned facilities have incorporated LEED or Green Guide for Healthcare specifications, using low-VOC paint, Energy Star-rated equipment and building materials with recycled content. We also buy materials locally and recycle construction waste", says Piirainen.
