Sports Medicine Grand Rounds and Other Weekly Conferences


Physicians, rehabilitation specialists, certified athletic trainers and others present weekly on the latest in orthopedic and sports medicine. Wide-ranging topics address primary care concerns affecting sports participation as well as surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions.

Grand Rounds is open to health professionals and students at no charge. Continuing education credits are available for physicians and certified athletic trainers. Physical therapists/assistants, occupational therapists, physician assistants and nurses may claim credit based on their individual state practice acts. Sports Medicine Grand Rounds is held Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30 a.m. 

During September and October 2009, Grand Rounds will be presented in the Brennan Center at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - Fairview, 2450 Riverside Ave., Minneapolis. The presentation will also be available via satellite at the Maple Grove Medical Center, 14500 99th Ave., N., Maple Grove, in the 2nd floor conference room.

New this year...
During November and December, Fairview Southdale Hospital, 6401 France Ave., S., Edina, will host the Sports Medicine Grand Rounds presentation in the International Room. The presentation will also be available via satellite at the University of Minnesota Riverside Brennan Center and at Maple Grove Medical Center.  

Grand Rounds presentations are not held during June, July or August.
