The new emergency department at Fairview Northland has a special room just for kids. Visiting the emergency room can be especially traumatic for children. The new pediatric exam room has been designed with little ones in mind. In addition to age and size appropriate equipment and technology, the room has been painted with a beautiful mural. This mural, created by Jodi Sternquist of “Imaginary Walls”, depicts a beautiful outdoor scene filled with animals, birds, flowers and trees. Sternquist estimates that she has put 50 hours of design, sketching, and painting into the colorful and realistic mural.
The new pediatric exam room is part of the all-new emergency department at Fairview Northland Regional Hospital. In addition, the expansion project included all-new OB, lab, radiology and surgical departments. The public will be invited to see the completed project at an open house in June.
