Carolyn Wilson, president of University of Minnesota Medical Center, recently earned national recognition as a “Leader to Know.”

That’s according to Becker's Hospital Review, which included Wilson in its 2013 list of “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.” The list recognizes exceptional female leaders of hospitals and health systems across the country.

The 130 women featured in this year’s list have demonstrated a proven ability to lead their organizations in the midst of health care’s challenging environment, according to Becker’s and, as a result, are leaders to watch now and in the years to come. Wilson also was named in last year’s list.

The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team recognized hospital and health system leaders based on a number of factors, including awards they have received and hospital or health system performance.

Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration. She joined Fairview in November 2011. You can see a full list of this year’s honorees and their bios here.
